You source the shed and we install. We recommend a concrete shed base which we can install.
What foundations to you recommend for a shed or summerhouse?
We recommend a concrete base of around 7-10 cm that sits on a further 7 cm of compacted hardcore that is level.
What size shed or summerhouse should we go for?
In our experience, always go for the largest size that you can comfortably afford. The space will always get used and if you ever come to sell, it will add value to your overall property.
Is planning permission required for a summerhouse?
In most cases planning permission is not required. However, planning permission may be required when:
The structure takes up over half of the garden.
If the structure is for non domestic use.
If the summerhouse is over 2.5m high.
To be on the safe side you should always make enquiries. This link has some useful information CLICK HERE.
Can I have power to my shed or summerhouse?
Yes, you can have electricity supplied, but we would always recommend using the services of a qualified electrician.
Can I insulate my shed or summerhouse?
The answer is yes. Polystyrene or fibreglass insulation can be easily fitted between the framing members. Tongue and groove cladding can then provide a tidy internal finish. We can include this in the quotation if required.
Are your quotes all inclusive?
All of our quotes are inclusive with no hidden extras. Any changes to the job are agreed in advance and if they incur an additional charge we will always advise you prior to going ahead.
Will you leave my garden in a good state?
We always endeavour to work as tidily as possible so that your garden is exactly how we found it (except for a lovely new shed or summerhouse). However, when the ground is wet, footprints etc. are inevitable. But very shortly after your garden will recover to its former state.
